A note before we start. I would like to take this opportunity to say, my tutorials are nothing more than guides.
Let your own creativity come alive and never be afraid to change your mind.
That's what the delete and undo buttons are for!.....LOL
I also encourage you to choose your own colors and or patterns.

Now let's get started and have some fun!

Please remember to save often if your PSP locks up on a regular basis!

    1. Open a new image 100 X 100 Transparent Background
    2. Flood fill with a DARK color of choice.
    3. Add new layer and flood fill with a contrasting LIGHT color of choice.
    4. Image/Rotate 45 (Right or Left, it don't matter here) this layer only.
    5. Merge Layers Visible.
    6. Apply the Simple Diamonds Filter.
    7. Apply the Effects/Blur/Motion Blur 180 Angle 40 pixels.
    8. Apply Flaming Pear's Ornament Filter three ( 3 ) times in a row.
    9. Apply Simple's Pizza Slice Mirror Filter.
    10. Now Effects/Texture Effects/Rough Leather with these settings:

  • Leather Color: Black (#000000)
  • Angle: 45
  • Luminance : Minus 18
  • Contrast: 18
  • Sharpness: 14
  • Blur: 10
  • Light Color: White (#FFFFFF)

    11. Apply Simple's Pizza Slice Mirror Filter once more.
    12. You're all done! You also can colorize it different if you want.
    13. Also, try reversing the colors, such as LIGHT color first then DARK color on the second layer.
    14. I hope you enjoyed this quick background tut and learned that you can use a filter other than it was originally created to do.
